Covid-19 Vaccine Update

We are receiving lots of enquiries about the COVID vaccine. We are incredibly excited to hear that both of both the Pfizer/BioNTech and AstraZeneca vaccines have been approved for use in the UK.

Please note that the AZ vaccine will only be available to patients living in care homes or that are housebound.

The vaccinations will take place at our ‘COVID vaccine hub’ which will be at Oakridge Park Medical Centre, vaccines will not be stored at Wolverton Health Centre.

We please ask that you do not contact us regarding appointments for the vaccine, unless we have already tried to contact you, ie left a voicemail asking you to get in touch. Our patient navigation team are working very hard at the moment to contact all of our eligible patients in priority group one – these are our patients over the age of 80 years old.

For those of you that are keeping a close eye on the media, Prime Minister Boris Johnson believes that between the immense joint effort of all involved, we will hopefully have at least given the first dose of the COVID vaccine to all eligible members of the public in priority groups one to four by the end of February.

For those in groups five to ten – you have been identified as eligible for a vaccine, but due to the sheer scale of this mass vaccination program we cannot yet give a timescale, meaning you may not receive a vaccine for a number of months.

For further information on the priority groups, please see the First Phase Priority Groups poster below.
