EPS is a way of allowing us to send your prescription to a pharmacy of your choice which saves you having to collect it from the surgery. Please advise the prescription clerk of the chemist you wish to use. Please be aware that not all controlled drugs or prescription items are able to be sent via EPS but this will soon be changing.

Repeat Prescriptions.....medication7

Some patients will need to be on long term medication this will be authorised and prescribed by the doctor. The left hand sheet of the prescription is used by the chemist to dispense the medication. The right hand sheet (request slip) is retained by the patient and used when medication is next required.

To request medication -

  • Place your request slip in the box in reception indicating clearly which items you require. If you supply a stamped addressed envelope your prescription will be posted back to you. (Please allow extra time for posting)
  • Fax details of you request to 01908 314717 – please give all details as above
  • Some chemists provide a prescription collection service and will dispense your medication ready for collection. Please arrange this directly with the pharmacy.
  • You can use our online appointment system to order medication. Please speak to our patient navigator in reception for a username and password: You will need to show ID at the reception desk to be given your log-in details.  We are unable to do it over the phone.
  • Please do not try to order your medication online more than 7 days in advance as the system will not allow this to be processed.

If you wish a chemist to collect your prescription you will need to arrange this yourself. Some pharmacies will provide a home delivery service for housebound and elderly patients but you will need to ask your pharmacy.

Please note, we do not take requests for repeat medication over the telephone, the exception to this would be for housebound patients only.

Please also note we do not take prescription requests at the desk, you will be asked to fill out a request form if you do not have your printout.

Medication Reviews

Patients on repeat medication will be asked to see a doctor, nurse practitioner or practice nurse at least once a year to review these regular medications and notification should appear on your repeat slip. Please ensure that you book an appropriate appointment to avoid unnecessary delays to further prescriptions.

48_hoursPlease allow two/three full working days for prescriptions to be processed and remember to take weekends and bank holidays into account.  If a pharmacy is collecting your prescription on your behalf please allow an extra working day
